The BVI Medical Interpreter Pathway Program

Become a Certified Medical Interpreter

From bilingual to certified to placed. A structured pathway for people ready to pursue national healthcare interpreter certification through CCHI.

Healthcare Needs Qualified Interpreters.

Hospitals, clinics, and healthcare providers depend on accurate communication every day. Qualified medical interpreters help patients understand their care, providers gather the right information, and organizations deliver language access with confidence.

The need is real. The path can feel confusing.

BridgeVoice Interpreters built a structured pathway to help bilingual candidates understand the certification process, prepare for CCHI exams, and move toward professional healthcare interpreting opportunities.

How the Pathway Works

The BVI Medical Interpreter Pathway is designed around the CCHI certification process.

Candidates begin with the CoreCHI™ exam, which tests foundational healthcare interpreting knowledge. Candidates pursuing language-specific certification may then continue to the CHI™ or ETOE™ performance exam, depending on language availability and eligibility.

BVI does not issue certifications. We provide structure, guidance, resources, and placement support for candidates pursuing recognized healthcare interpreter credentials.

Who is this for?

This pathway was built for bilingual individuals who want to enter healthcare interpreting but need a clear starting point.

It is also for working interpreters who want structure, certification guidance, and support preparing for healthcare settings.

Whether someone is brand new, already interpreting informally, or ready to pursue national certification, the BVI Medical Pathway helps them understand the next step.

Built Around Real Lives.

Not every candidate needs the same level of support. Some candidates are ready to fund their own exam fees and need guidance. Others need financial support to remove the upfront barrier.

BridgeVoice offers two medical pathway options based on the candidate’s goals, readiness, and need for support.

Certification Requirements & Pathway Alignment

Certification requirements are not the same across every credential, language, or setting. BridgeVoice Interpreters does not issue licenses or certifications.

The BridgeVoice Medical Interpreter Pathway provides structured guidance through the CCHI certification process, including the CoreCHI™ exam and, when applicable, the CHI™ or ETOE™ performance exam.

This pathway is not a language-specific training program. All guidance and resources are provided in English and are designed to help candidates understand the process, prepare for exams, and move forward with clarity.

Candidates are responsible for developing proficiency in their working languages and meeting certification eligibility requirements.

By enrolling, you acknowledge that certification requirements, timelines, and outcomes may vary.

Certification Is the Beginning. Not the End.

Passing an exam is an important milestone, but it is not the full career path.

BVI prepares candidates for what comes after certification, including professionalism, availability expectations, assignment readiness, communication standards, and client-facing conduct.

The goal is not just a credential. The goal is to help qualified interpreters become ready for real healthcare assignments.

The BVI Standard

BridgeVoice Interpreters was founded by a staffing and workforce operations professional who has spent years on both sides of placement. Understanding what candidates need to succeed. Understanding what clients expect when they hire. And recognizing that the gap between those two things was a problem worth solving.

This program is the solution. Built with operational precision, driven by genuine passion for language access, and designed for one outcome. People with bilingual talent building careers that reflect the value of what they bring to the world.
